Ben Affleck (or Benjamin Geza Affleck-Boldt) is a popular American actor and director. He was born in 1972 in California and was lucky to appear in front of the TV cameras at the age of 9 when he was invited to take part in "The Dark End of the Street", a TV series for teenagers, followed by the roles in other projects for youth. Him and his best friend Matt Damon were inseparable, and vowed to become successful actors. Affleck's cinema debut took place in 1993, with the movie "Dazed and Confused" where he played with Milla Jovovich. Just a few years later, together with Damon, he appeared in the movies "Good Will Hunting" and "Dogma", which brought international fame to both of the young actors. This was followed by a number of very successful performances of Affleck in "Armageddon" (with Bruce Willis and Liv Tyler), "The Sum of All Fears" (with Morgan Freeman), "Pearl Harbour" (with Kate Beckinsale), and finally "Daredevil". His first movie as a director, "Gone Baby Gone", was released in 2008 and had very good critics. His notable later works as an actor include "The Town", "Argo" (with Bryan Cranston), and "Batman v Superman: the Down of Justice". Ben won one Academy Award and three Golden Globe Awards. He dated Gwyneth Partlow and Jennifer Lopez, but in 2005 he married Jennifer Garner, and the couple has 3 children. They divorced in 2018. Affleck is a professional poker player.
