Daniel Michael DeVito, or Danny DeVito, is an American actor, comic, and movie director. He was born in 1944 in New Jersey and started his acting career in the early 1970s with a few small roles in Hollywood movies. He delivered performances in the movies "One Flew Over the Cocoo's Nest" and "Goin' South", both with Jack Nicholson. Shortly after De Vito joined the cast of the TV show "Taxi", which made him really famous. For the role in that TV series, he received the Golden Globe award. During the 1980s DeVito took part in the movies "Romancing the Stone", "The Jewel of the Nile" and "The War of Roses" (with Michael Douglas), "Tin Men", "Twins" (with Arnold Schwarzenegger), followed by new roles in the projects like "Batman Returns" (with Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer), "Jack the Bear", "Last Action Hero" and "Junior" (with Schwarzenegger), "Renaissance Man", "Space Jam" (with Michael Jordan), "The Rainmaker" (with Matt Deamon), "Living Out Loud" (with Queen Latifah), and "Drowning Mona".
