Denzel Washington is a popular American actor, director, and producer. He was born in Mount Vernon in 1954, to a family of a beauty salon owner, so in his early childhood, he used to help his family manage the facility. He joined Fordham University and studied biology, medicine, and then journalism, but taking part in a local theater's performances evoked his huge interest in acting. Being very persistent and hardworking, Denzel has got a chance to join a popular American Conservatory Acting School in San Francisco, but after one year of studies, he decided to quit it and focus on his cinema acting career. His cinema debut took place in 1981 when he obtained a small role in "Carbon Copy" movie. Since then, his career has been developing quite fast, with his roles in the movies like "Hard Lessons", "Power", "A Soldier's Story", and "Glory", which brought him the Academy Award. He was gladly taking part in various cinema and TV projects, and accepting plenty of supporting roles which still brought a great popularity.
