John F. Kennedy was a politician and the 35th President of the United States who tragically lost his life as a result of a public assassination. Born John Fitzgerald Kennedy in 1917 in Massachusetts, he grew up in a wealthy and very large family, alongside his parents and 8 siblings. After finishing a prestigious boarding school in Connecticut, he enrolled in Harvard College where he demonstrated great success both in studying and sports. After graduating he served his military duties and took part in some events which unfolded during World War II. In the mid-1940s he started his political career and was elected a member of the US House of Representatives from Massachusetts. In 1953 he became a member of the Senate as a member of the Democratic Party of the US. Kennedy was involved in a large number of social and political activities. He had plenty of supporters as he was young and had many qualities of a great national leader. In 1961 he took part in the 35th Presidential Campaign and won the office. For just two years of his being the President, Kennedy had plenty of challenges, especially on the international level, including severe tensions with the USSR, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the problems related to the situation in Vietnam. In November 1963 John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 46.
