Tina Fey is an American author, comedian, actress, and producer, who is known for her performance in the shows like Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock, and a few others. Born Elizabeth Samantha Fey in 1970 in Pennsylvania, she grew up alongside her elder brother and her parents who truly loved comedy and made their children love it too. In order to pursue a career in improvisational comedy, after finishing college Fey moved to Chicago and took a few courses in acting and improvisation. She started as a member of The Second City writer's group and continued as a writer for a few comedy programs on TV. In 1997 she was invited to write for Saturday Night Live and it was a great experience for her in creating really interesting comedy plots. In 2006 Fey started her own project, a TV series 30 Rock where she also played the lead role and contributed as a writer. In the 2010s Tina Fey was involved in creating movies like Megamind, Admission, This Is Where I Leave You, Sisters, Wine County, and many others. Fey is among the most respected comedy writers and a winner of plenty of the highest awards including three Golden Globe Awards, nine Emmy Awards, five Screen Actors Guild Awards, and so on. She is the author of a few books and an avid social activist.
